As the summer days tick on, I’ve been working on developing my autumn collection. My sketchbook is my starting point for the patterns I’m designing and the products I’m making. What do you think? p.s. you might recognise the Bramble Hat from an earlier post! Soon, I’ll be posting the pattern and sample for my darling little Gooseberry Slippers 🙂
Recent Knitting Projects
It’s taken a while, but I’m finally uploading pictures of some recent creatures I’ve made: one elephant and two totoros. Aren’t they adorable?!
The elephant is made using Ysolda Teague’s Elijah pattern, and the little white totoro using Brella’s Chibi Totoro Toy pattern. I improvised the blue totoro myself, adapting a number of free crochet patterns available on Ravelry.
All of these were Christmas presents for Mr. Me over the past few years, and they now live together as a little family on his bookshelf. I wonder who will join their gang next?
Introducing Mr. Me’s Family Treasure: Butler Point!
You can now follow Butler Point on Pinterest and/or like us on Facebook!
I’m thrilled to introduce these two new pages for Butler Point. It’s an amazing property with whaling museum and historic house, owned by Mr. Me’s family.
We’ve just returned from Butler Point where we relaunched the expanded, improved whaling museum. These photos are from our recent trip. Enjoy! Above: a bench nestles into towering trees and flowers by the seaside garden.
Below: the bright white old boathouse.
Below: An archway connects two of the gardens. Mr. Me’s parents had their wedding reception here.
Below: View of the beach from the gate to the old house, where Captain William and Mrs. Eliza Butler lived – from 1840 – with their 13 children!
Living Sculpture – from The Dream Being
This video, featured on The Dream Being, made me smile. I wonder how they did it!

Fashion Inspiration: Plastic Man!
This one was a challenge from Mr. Me! I must say I think I’ve done well; I kind of want this outfit really bad.
Have you seen Batman: the Brave and the Bold? It’s an animated series that features obscure characters from comics gone by, like Plastic Man, who “can stretch everywhere but into your heart.” The nude jeans and shoes are optional, of course: Plastic himself goes bare leg and bare foot.
Outfit details:Â Chloe sunglasses, American Apparel bodysuit, Gogo Philip necklace, Madewell belt, Camilla Skovgaard heels, Go Jane jeans.

My new hat pattern is ready, and it’s free!
Here’s the PDF – enjoy, and happy knitting. Bantams in Pine Woods Bramble Hat Pattern.
Busy Bees
Mr. Me and I have been busy lately helping his grandparents to relaunch their amazing Whaling Museum in the far north of New Zealand. Of course, I’ve also been knitting. Check in soon to help yourself to my new Bramble and Hedgerow hat and scarf patterns.
Here are some photos of our recent trip to Butler Point – and some more sneak peeks of what I’ve been working on.
Sneak Peek
This weekend I’m working on a new scarf pattern, soon to be available on my Ravelry page. For the sample I’m using beautiful hand dyed lace weight Merino from FiberArtemis, pictured below.
